Kia Ora Sr Brigid whānau,

It’s wonderful to be able to offer a new after-school sporting opportunity for our Year 7 and 8 students!

David Jackson from Pahiatua has organised a Ki Ō Rahi tournament involving local Bush schools during Weeks 3, 4, 5 and 6 of this term. The games will be held at 3:40 pm on Wednesdays at the Bush Multisport Stadium, with all rounds starting at this time.

We will need a parent or whānau member who is available to manage and coach the team.

Ki Ō Rahi is a very popular game in our PE programme, and we are fortunate to have Troy (Rangitāne) join us every Wednesday this term to support our learning. However, with a class of 28 students, we may not be able to include everyone from the class in the after-school tournament team. We also understand that some students may have other commitments on Wednesday afternoons.

If your child would like to take part in this exciting opportunity, or if you are available to coach or manage the team, please let me know via email jharrison@stanthony.ac.nz

The Seasons for Growth programme will begin in Week 2 of Term 4.

If you would like your child to take part in this programme, please let Jenni Harrison know by the end of today, Tuesday 13 October 2026.

As shared in our previous school newsletter, Seasons for Growth is a programme for children aged 6–12 years. It helps children understand that change is a normal part of life and develops tools and skills to support their wellbeing.

The programme supports children experiencing a range of life changes, including parental or whānau separation, health diagnoses, anxiety, the death of someone close to them, or moving schools, homes or locations.

 

If you would like your child to participate, please contact Jenni Harrison by the end of today.

The Bush Districts Boys & Girls Agricultural Club Combined Group Day will be held at Mangamaire on Thursday 12 November 2026, with judging starting at 10am sharp. Primary school-aged children with a lamb or calf are welcome to participate, with plenty of prizes, food and fun on offer. Kia ora whānau,

As we come to the end of Term 3, we would like to wish all our school families a happy, safe and relaxing Term 3 holiday break. We hope you enjoy some quality time together and make the most of the holidays.

Please see attached our Pet Day poster. Pet Day will sneak up on us quickly in Term 4.

A reminder that when we return for Term 4, students will be wearing their summer school uniforms. 

Thank you for your continued support throughout Term 3. We look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for another great term.
