Haere Mai, Welcome to

St Anthony's School

Nau mai Haere mai. At St Anthony's School, we are proud to offer a welcoming, nurturing Catholic education for students from Year 1 to Year 8.

Located in the heart of Pahiatua, we are a close community that belongs to the St Brigid’s Parish.

Founded over 100 years ago by the Brigidian Sisters, we cherish our rich history and the values that have shaped us. Our Catholic Character is at the heart of everything we do, and we are committed to teaching our LIFE values: Love, Integrity, Fortitude, and Excellence. These values guide both our teaching and how we live our daily lives. We strive to provide a modern, well-resourced learning environment that prepares students for a bright future.

Our dedicated staff are passionate about delivering up-to-date teaching and learning experiences, while modeling the values that define our school. St Anthony’s is not just a school – it’s a vibrant community. Our whānau play an active role in their children’s learning, and we work together to provide the best possible educational experiences.

We would love for you to come and see what makes our school so special. We look forward to meeting you and sharing the journey of learning and growth. Come and be part of our story!

Nga mihi nui,

Principal Marg Hyslop

St Patrick's Day  - Tomorrow 17.3.2026 - dress up in something green
16 Mar 2026

St Patrick's Day  - Tomorrow

,As per the school newsletter, tomorrow Tuesday, 17 March 2026, we will be celebrating St Patrick’s Day. Students can come to school dressed in something green (not their school uniform).  Those who would like to can contribute a non-perishable food item to the basket that we will send to Tararua Community Services. This is a great opportunity for our students to learn about the Catholic Social Teaching Principle of Preferential Option for the Poor and Vulnerable - he whakaaro nui mō te hunga rawakore - which compels us to think first of the needs of those who are most vulnerable.

Head Lice
1 Mar 2026

There have been some cases of head lice reported to us over the past week.  We ask that all families please check their children’s hair daily and treat as required.  To eradicate head lice it does take two or three repeated treatments. For further information please contact your health provider or go to the following website
https://www.health.govt.nz/your-health/conditions-and-treatments/diseases-and-illnesses/head-lice
The Public Health Nurses can provide head lice treatment for the whole family, this includes head lice product, conditioner and combs and advice. The Public Health nurse will either come to school and do an assessment or make a home visit and make an assessment there. Please see the School Office for a referral form.
